We are here to provide services to everyone— men and women, boys and girls of any age, race, sexual orientation, gender, income level, etc. If you have a question about sexual or reproductive health, you have a right to ask!.

The main areas in which we offer services are listed below, but you can call us about any concern. If we can't help you ourselves, we will refer you to someone who can.

Due to a lack of funding, Sexual Health Centre Lunenburg County is closed during the summer months. (Please call for the exact closure dates.) Limited services may still be offered during this time, depending on volunteer availability. Please call 527-2868 for details.

    Outreach:
SHCLC understands that Lunenburg County is a predominantly rural area and many people do not have the resources to get to our office. In light of this, we strive to ensure there are other options for those who require our sexual and reproductive health services and information.

  • Family Support Centre Outreach Site at the Buccaneer Bay/Heritage House apartments: For people who live in BB/HH, our Health Educator will come to your Centre for counselling, education, or pregancy testing. Ask the Outreach Centre staff to arrange an appointment for an appropriate time.
  • School Outreach: If you are a student who needs a pregnancy test, counselling, or other information, we can go to your school if you are unable to come to our office. Arrangements must be made through your school Guidance Counsellor or other school authority.
  • Home Visits: Providing resources remain available, and you absolutely cannot find a way to our office, we may be able to go to your home to do counselling or pregnancy testing.
  • Other Options: If you have a question, you can e-mail us at lunco@nssexualhealth.ca. Remember, we are only open 3 days per week but we will get back to you as soon as possible. Or, you can always do it the old-fashioned way and call us or make an appointment for more personal service. We'd love to see you!
